About Austay's Homemade Salsa

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting! This has to be one of the most exciting adventures I have done in a long time! About 13 years ago, I was in a difficult place in my life. I was living in Janesville, Wisconsin, where I was born and raised. My marriage was very unhealthy and the only way I found a lot of peace and therapy was when I was gardening. I did not have a full garden at that point, but I grew a lot of my tomatoes and vegetables on my deck in my planters. One year I ended up with a lot of tomatoes and realized I had to do something creative with them. As salsa is one of my favorite foods, I had decided to put together a recipe for it while using all of my homegrown vegetables and my outcome was AUSTAY SALSA! It took many attempts and fails, but finally I had created a recipe that even today is one of the best I have ever made. I moved to Deerfield, Wisconsin, in 2017 and was connected with the local farmer's market a few years later. Since I was already growing my own garden, I finally decided to start making and canning my salsa along with joining the local farmer’s market. With great support from my kids and Blair, who goes above and beyond, I am enjoying every minute of this adventure!
